Ok, I have a question about PM verses the mattel. My Kit, Marisol, Kaya, Josephina, and Jane all have small lettering on the back of their neck that read Pleasant Company. Well, my Molly, Kirsten, Addy, and Felicity have the large lettering, but I got them only last year from AG. Is it possible that AG had over stock from the Pre mattel days? Or does the stamp sizes have nothing to do with it. Could that explain why I really hate the Kirsten head that my old one was replaced with?

I am definitely no expert on this, but it seems logical to me that different factories might have slightly different neck stamps. I doubt Mattel has a large inventory of old Pleasant Company dolls they are selling. It's possible that different factories produce dolls with subtle production differences - like how one doll might have really pink cheeks and lips or another might have almost no coloring; or why one might be stuffed very full while another is much slimmer, could be attributed to the dolls coming from different factories. That would be my guess.

AG dolls are made in different factories. Each factory may have a different stamp to put on the doll. This is why some dolls have PC on them plus letters and numbers, while some others have only the PC logo only. I was told this from a AG manager at AG Headquaters.
